Yes we do, we treat all skin types thanks to the CandelaMax Pro and it's Yag and the Lumenis LightSheer lasers which is effective for color ranging from light brown to black skin tones.
Our laser machines are FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approved and tested and have undergone rigorous clinical trials to deem them safe and effective.
Client care and client safety is extremely important to us here at Sensius. We carry out a consultation and perform a patch test prior to you commencing treatment to ensure you are educated and suitable to go ahead with the laser hair removal process.
Laser is a device that generates light of a single wavelength, and therefore light of a single color. Pulsed light is a device with a conventional halogen lamp that generates light of multiple wavelengths, and therefore, light of many colors. When all colors are together, the light looks white.
With laser, all the energy is absorbed by melanin, which only absorbs the red band. The energy density is concentrated at a single wavelength; therefore, it is highly selective and has a high density. This results in a better adaptation on the patient (pulse duration, fluency, etc.).
With the PULSED LIGHT(IPL) technique, energy cannot be controlled since the filter behaves differently as it is used. The energy density is also divided among a multitude of wavelengths because pulsed light is, by definition, a band of light with multiple wavelengths, so it is not possible to select only one. This involves lower selectivity and lower density.
Lasers are far more precise, and can selectively target dark, coarse hairs while leaving the surrounding skin undamaged. Laser technology is simply much more effective, and achieves substantially better results than IPL. IPL is a less effective technology for reducing body hair.
For the majority of people laser hair removal is an amazing and sometimes life changing treatment. Genetically we are all so different and this has a huge impact on the effectiveness of your treatment, there are a number of different factors that are listed below that will determine the level the result you will receive and how many treatments it will take to get that result:
*All of these areas are fully explained when having a consultation with our laser specialists. Book you free consultation today.
It is impossible to achieve 100% removal of every single follicle in a given area but you will receive a permanent reduction in the growth.
Over the course of treatment your hair and the amount of it that you have will change dramatically, what starts off as rough, coarse and thick hair will eventually become soft, thin and light hair.
You will have areas where the hair has completely disappeared and some areas with sporadic light hairs remain, these hairs will be picked up on your subsequent top up treatments.
*Top up treatments are recommended to keep these finer hairs away and are typically needed once or twice a year.
Try to keep the skin as natural as possible, avoiding sun exposure, sun beds or self-tanning products, skin peeling products like glycolic acid (AHA creams) and Retin-A cream. Also be sure to tell us if you have been taking any tablets for acne such as Roaccutane, which must be discontinued prior to treatment.
During your consultation, we will review any medications or supplements that you are currently taking to help determine the appropriate fluency for your treatment.
Laser energy is delivered through a small handpiece operated by your practitioner. The laser delivers an intense beam of light, which is absorbed by the hair follicle and converted to heat.
The heat damages the hair follicle while the surrounding tissue remains unaffected. Your skin may be red immediately following the procedure. This typically lasts from a few minutes to several hours after the procedure.
The LightSheer has an innovative vacuum-assist technology that makes the treatment comparatively pain free, most people compare the feeling to the snap of an elastic band.
The Candela Gentle MaxPro uses a Dynamic Cooling Device™ (DCD™), which
prepares the skin for treatment by spraying the upper layer with a cooling burst of cryogen just milliseconds before the laser pulse. DCD helps ensure that Gentle Hair Removal treatments are as comfortable as they are effective.
Avoid sun exposure at least two weeks before treatment. Do not bleach, pluck or wax 4 to
6 weeks before and after treatment. Wait for tanned skin to fade before beginning treatment.
Treatment times may vary depending on your specific needs. Hair growth is reduced after
each treatment and the number of treatments required will be based on your hair color and
type, body area and skin tone.
