Have you ever wondered if laser hair removal is painful? Does it take long? How many sessions will I need? Well here is a short but complete explanation of Laser Hair Removal at Sensius.
Firstly, the consultation. We will go through everything needed to make sure you are a suitable candidate for laser. We will determine the amount of sessions you will need to remove the hair successfully and will also
include your patch test.
After booking your appointment, due to covid regulations, we kindly ask you to arrive at your allocated time and please come to the appointment alone. All covid 19 measures will be applied such as wearing a face mask, temperature checks and constant disinfection of all areas.
Treatment times vary depending on the area. We start by cleaning the skin and mapping out our sections, this allows the therapist to perform a precise and accurate treatment. Once the area is prepared we begin to target the hair using Lumenis lightsheer or Candela Nd YAG. Both machines are medical grade and FDA approved. The laser emits a light that is absorbed by the melanin in the hair. The light energy is converted to heat which destroys the hair follicle without damaging the surrounding tissue. We aim to make your treatment as comfortable as possible at all times, you may feel a slight pinch.
Post treatment, the area may look irritated or red, this usually lasts 24-48 hours. Make sure to follow your aftercare given at the consultation.
• apply aloe Vera regularly
• avoid hot showers for 24hrs
• no sun exposure
• wear loose clothing
Sessions are usually once every 4 weeks for the face and once every 6 weeks for the body.
Laser is a long term solution for getting rid of unwanted hair.
