At Sensius Laser Clinic, we strongly advise all of our clients to protect their skin during their laser treatments by using a broad spectrum of at least SPF30 (preferably a total sun block of SPF 50)
The reason for this is simple: Laser is attracted to pigment, which is why it works so well on dark hairs, however if the skin on the area to be treated has not been protected with SPF the skin’s melanin levels will increase meaning you are more likely to have pigment in your skin therefore the laser light will br drawn to that rather than its original target, the hair.
If you have exposed the areas to be treated to UV rays make sure to tell your therapist, however don’t worry, our team will be sure to ask before each teatment and we can re-schedule for a few weeks time
